In a hidden square within Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, the project utilizes the original spatial structure of the plaza to introduce vegetation as a transitable sculptural intervention.
Emerging from multiple points on the ground, vegetal lines rise and intersect through a system of light cables that weave a new spatial thread between the surrounding buildings. These suspended trajectories draw linear geometries across the void of the square, framing the opening toward the sky.
The intervention guides the visitor’s gaze upward, revealing the architectural elements of the surrounding facades while leading the eye through the woven structure until it meets the sky above. During the night, the suspended lines illuminate softly, transforming the plaza into a shifting composition of light, shadow, and vegetation. Projectt made within ex-studio | Barcelona
