Forest Refuge

prototype

Like a caterpillar emerging from the earth, Forest Refuge is proposed as a space introduced into a forest environment, seeking to create a space of encounters between man and nature.

Forest Refuge explores new aspects of movement, form and light becoming an architecture-nature project that creates different types of spaces and situations with multiple connotations and evocations.

The project is built using a de-mountable structure covered by an elastic textile skin which moulds itself to the structure that generates the space. The flexibility and lightness of the structure allows that the piece can constantly transform and adapt with the capacity to grow, to expand, or to be contracted according to the natural surroundings in which it is placed. The vegetable skin changes which mimes and transforms with the surrounding landscape creating a space of light in the forest darkness.
